EV Battery Vibration Testing Overview
Lithium-ion batteries are the most common battery type used for electric vehicles. During their lifespan, these batteries undergo various vibrations and temperature changes. Several test standards have been developed to simulate long-term environmental effects on these batteries across different size levels (cell, module, pack).
Vibration Test Types
- Sine Vibration: Periodic vibration following sine/cosine functions, including fixed-frequency and sweep-frequency variations
- Random Vibration: Irregular waveform vibration that better simulates real-world conditions like road travel
